Shou Sugi Ban, Burning Wood to Preserve it

That time I was paid to burn perfectly good lumber... in order to protect it and give it character, an awesome technique and finish ! Charring the wood then cleaned it with a pressure washer, then oil treated after installation is a great way to preserve a house ! Also called Yakisugi or Shou Sugi Ban. What you hear in the background are beautiful healthy cows roaming around and we are standing right at the foot of the Mont-Blanc !
